베타 카로틴 소개

베타 카로틴은 당근에 주황색을 부여하는 분자로, 많은 과일과 채소뿐만 아니라 달걀 노른자와 같은 일부 동물성 제품에서 발견되는 카로티노이드라는 화학 물질 계열의 일부입니다. 생물학적으로 베타 카로틴은 비타민 A의 전구체로서 가장 중요하며 항산화 특성을 가지고있어 암 및 기타 질병 예방에 도움이 될 수 있습니다. 베타 카로틴은 베타-카로틴 15, 150- 디옥 시게나 아제에 의해 산화 절단 후 우리 몸에서 비타민 A로 전환 될 수 있기 때문에 프로 비타민으로도 알려져 있습니다. 식물에서 베타 카로틴은 항산화 제 역할을하며 광합성 과정에서 형성된 단일 항 산소 라디칼을 중화합니다.
